Karachi Matric Board 2023 Results Under Scrutiny for Alleged Irregularities and Corruption
An investigation into the 2023 results of the Karachi Matric Board’s tenth-grade exams has uncovered numerous irregularities, sparking calls for immediate reforms. Led by Secretary of School Education Dr. Shireen Mustafa, the inquiry committee presented its findings to Sindh Education Minister Justice (Retd.) Makhdoom Mqbool Baqar in Hyderabad.
The committee highlighted significant lapses in the examination process, particularly among key members such as the Controller, Deputy Controller, Assistant Controller, and IT team.
Recommendations from the committee include further probes into corruption allegations, particularly those concerning irregularities within the Matric Board. Urgent action is urged from anti-corruption authorities against all responsible parties.
Concerns were raised regarding the IT/Computer wing’s inefficiency within the Matric Board administration, notably in the inadequate implementation of new result software. The committee stressed the need for external support services to enhance technological capabilities.
Transparency issues during the result announcement process were also flagged by the committee. The failure to provide original records for scrutiny raised doubts about result accuracy.
The 2023 examination results of the Karachi Matric Board have cast doubt on the integrity of the process. Urgent calls for reforms and accountability measures aim to rebuild trust in the education system and ensure fair evaluation for students. The endorsement of the inquiry committee’s recommendations by the Sindh Chief Minister underscores a commitment to promptly addressing these concerns.
